     Since 1977, I've been learning about and teaching photography as part of my profession and also because it's my main hobby.

     I love black and white darkroom work and recently have been immersed in learning about digital still photography. Now, I'm branching out into video editing in both analog and digital formats. By the way, analog means the older video technology like most of us have been using for many years. Digital video is still pretty new but it's getting to be more common because the prices of consumer model cameras are coming down.

     However, any photography stored on magnetic tape is subject to deterioration even after only several years in ideal storage conditions! This is why I'm getting into burning video images onto DVDs -- I want my vacation and family videos and still photography to live for 80 or more years for the generations that follow me. It's also nice to have multiple types of photography combined into one medium so it's easier for folks to enjoy. The DVDs will also contain music and in come cases, custom narration. Hey, I have to make those years of high school band and my previous radio experience good for something!
