Colorado is breathtaking. I never seem to have enough film, digital memory cards or vacation time! | ||
If you like canyon waterfalls, be sure and experience Trembelbach Falls in the Lauderbrunnen Valley. It's literally inside a Swiss Alp!Closer to home, left, is Box Canyon Falls in the "Swiss Alps of the Rockies" -- the whole area around Ouray, Colorado. It's the "flip side of the coin" regarding waterfalls inside mountains.Notice the SLR camera and bag hanging from the sign that cautions visitors about the dangers of the water. It provides a scale of size. And, yes, I got my shoe wet taking this photo! |

| For a
flatlander, above, I do OK at the top of mountain passes above 12,000 feet! Left,
this is a scene along the narrow-gauge train route between Durango and Silverton.
Below, the view from the outside dining area of a mountain winery
just above Colorado Springs. It's worth a stop on your way UP to higher
country.
Don't miss river rafting under the Royal Gorge Bridge and the peaceful solitude of mountain passes above Buena Visa nestled in the Collegiate Range. There's good fishing in the Buena Visa area too. For a real treat, be sure and see the Great Sand Dunes National Monument along with the side road UP to a quaint waterfall -- watch for the signs as the road is on the EAST side of the park's entry road. What a special drive this will be if you take your time along the way: I did and it's made a big difference in my life. |
